The first wedding dance.

If you’re an extrovert, you’re probably excited at this chance to bask in the limelight!

If you’re an introvert, your heart is probably beating a little faster that usual.

Yes, it’s time to put your best foot forward (Monday humour sorry) and make that dance one to remember.

As with most weddings nowadays, the music you choose and the dance you dance is completely up to you. Well, and maybe your in-laws!

While some couples get serious and go for dance lessons, others use it as a time to get the party started (and guest spot on Ellen!).

Whatever tickles your fancy, we’ve come up with a few different songs from different genres for all you different brides out there.

Okie, you can NEVER go wrong with “It had to be you”. There are many different versions out there though I do feel Harry Connick Jnr’s is the best. If this song worked for “When Harry met Sally”, then it should work for you too! Off topic, is it me or did he look much better when he was younger?

Unless you’re from New Zealand, you’ve probably not heard of Chris Knox! He’s a famous kiwi singer and his hit song, “Not Given Lightly” is still played on the radio and tele till today. I remember one of my classmates, Dave Delatour (now an actor in Hollywood), sang it to us girls and it has stuck with me since. This is a romantic song with a bit of spunk.

I know it’s not the norm in a Malay Wedding to have a wedding dance, but I did have a friend who married an English guy and decided to keep the tradition. So for the modern couples out there, here’s one of my favourite malay songs, Kau Ilhamku which translates to “My inspiration”.

Okie, so maybe you’re thinking “Steph, these slow songs are sending me to sleep!” and want something with a beat. How about Barry White! The man with the deep voice will have everyone singing along and dancing in their seats. Guaranteed. (more…)

With social media taking over the world nowadays, it’s only a matter of time before popular videos go viral and make their way around the world. This wedding dance has been viewed by over 5 million people and spreading like wildfire!

We’ve posted some of our favourite wedding videos up in the past, but this one is definitely the first to go ‘hip-hop’ and feature children!

Not sure what wedding toast to give the bride? Then watch this video! This has to be one of the BEST WEDDING TOASTS I’ve ever, ever seen! It starts off a little (quiet), but at 1:48 things pick up and you won’t stop smiling :)

In the beginning

It all began when we got engaged in April of 2008, while we were crossing the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Southampton on the RMS QE2. I could have never guessed that as the ship began to sail off from the port of Manhattan, it was actually the beginning of a lifelong journey for both my husband and I. Three months later, we took our parents for a weekend cruise to Bruges and gave them a surprise by announcing our engagement onboard. Boy, did their jaws drop as they screamed with joy! It was yet another wonderful celebration sur la mer.

65 of our very close family and friends in the UK and from all around world. We had guests coming from France, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden, Canada, Australia, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Since we’ve all probably got a touch of those Monday blues and a bit of stress from the spring cleaning and CNY round the corner, I thought it apt to start the week off with a video! This one is quite cute and a nifty idea for the bright bride who wants to ‘shine‘.

So I’m getting married next year and have been busy meeting my wedding planner, looking for my gown etc… when I started thinking about the other details… like our wedding dance. Bit of pressure here – definitely a step up from our usual boogie at Zouk! While hanging at Steph’s place we started googling “wedding dances” and found some super funny videos! I think this is my favorite and I must say – this bride has got it going on!

What malaysian song could I dance too… HMMMM! Ipoh mali??
